cudi sounds perfect for the chorus (along with the autotune throughout the chorus as well). it's kind of motivating in a way, but still has the 808s feel. The whole kid cudi chorus in Welcome to Heartbreak. the Wayne verse is not that good, the autotune somehow goes out of tune, the beat seems to drag on in an uninteresting way, and it's just boring to sit through when playing the album front to back. it's funny because I feel like these songs are on the opposite sides of the spectrum of the whole album. RoboCop has some insane drums and beautiful percussion in this case, but the piano in Heartbreak is enchanting to hear. the strings in both songs are what really get me in this case. It's probably either RoboCop or Welcome to Heartbreak. It’s great that I’m going to talk about MBDTF, my favourite album on my birthday.ġ: what is your favorite song on the album?

The album was not critically well received at the time but it’s influence has spawned artists like Drake (I know that there's drama around him and Ye, but I kinda have to mention the album influencing him because of how big an artist he is) and Kid Cudi, being received different nowadays from it’s original release.

The album has a massive stylistic change from his previous works with auto tuned singing instead of rapping, and minimalistic production with heavy use of 808 drums. Not only had he recently up with his long time girlfriend, but another big thing, his mother Donda West died of cosmetic surgery that he paid for, wanting to give her things because of all of the love and support she gave him. This album was written at a hard point in Kanye West’s life. Today we will be talking about 808s & Heartbreak, Kanye West’s fourth album.
